the Jiangsu Engineering Lab of Biomass Refining

   The lab was founded in December, 2010, approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangsu Province and is supported by Changzhou University.

   There are four relatively independent research groups in the lab where biodiesel related new production technology, biomass separation technology, high added-value biomass products and cleaner biomass production technology is being studied respectively.

    In recent years, the lab has cooperated with Jiangsu Cater new energy Co., Ltd. on exploiting the key green technology with high-performance and high added-value to utilize swill-cooked oil and other waste oil comprehensively. The research aims at constructing the recycling network of swill-cooked oil and other waste oil and the supervision system, enhancing the cultivation of the technicians, and eventually eradicating the swill-cooked oil from the dining table to secure the food safety.

   In the last three year, 6 projects have been granted by the National Natural and Science Fund of China, 15 projects have been granted by the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province, 15 projects have been funded by municipal government, and over 30 projects have been financially supported by enterprises. The lab has also won 3 provincial-level awards for scientific and technological progress and fulfilled 5 achievement transformations. 20 patents have been filed with over 10 of which have been licensed. More than 50 papers have been published, including 10 papers published in well renowned international journals such as Chemistry and Biology, Bioresource technology, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry. Researchers in the lab also participated in publishing 2 monographs.
